2021 October Update
I have a couple exciting announcements this month! The first is that my website updates are complete. I’ve been making some much needed changes, including updating my portfolio with more focus on character design and illustration, laying out information in a better way for site visitors, and presenting my work more confidently for job applications. The biggest challenge was switching over from WordPress to Squarespace while maintaining a similar functionality and design. It was definitely an adjustment for me, but overall I think the upgrades will be worth it. I feel a little sad leaving WordPress after all these years and I genuinely enjoyed the customizations available, but I definitely found myself stressing out more over custom plugins and coding than I should have. 🙃
My second piece of news is that there is a new WVAL art show with some of my paintings to check out! Here is the flyer and a couple preview photos:
I will have two original paintings and a few prints for sale at the show from October 12th - 20th. If you haven’t seen Hummingbird Hangout in person, here’s another chance! My other painting is brand new. Both paintings are mixed media watercolor on a cradled box panel. I’ve been enjoying my recent experimental process as a way of making traditional art alongside my digital art. You can read more about my process so far from my previous post, 2021 WVAL August Show.
Overall, just trying to be more confident and keep making things that I feel passionate about. It’s been really rough but I believe I’m on a better path now. Thanks for stopping by! 😊
